I’m committed to advocating gender equality in sports
Alba Hurup Larsen is a promising Danish motorsport racer who rose from karting to single-seater competition in just two years, becoming the first Danish driver selected for the F1 Academy program.
EARLY YEARS
Alba began her motorsport journey during the COVID-19 pandemic at age 12, starting with karting. Unlike many competitors who begin in early childhood, she came to racing relatively late, but quickly transformed what was initially a hobby into a lifestyle with the support of her family and school.
EARLY SUCCESS
In 2023, Alba won the prestigious FIA Girls On Track Rising Stars programme, beating 115 talented girls from over 50 countries. This victory showcased her exceptional learning ability and driving skills, earning her mentorship from Formula One driver Kevin Magnussen. By early 2024, she made her single-seater debut in the Indian Formula 4 Championship with Speed Demons Delhi, securing a sixth-place finish and winning Rookie of the Race in Chennai.
NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
- 2023: Won the fourth edition of the FIA Girls on Track – Rising Stars program, promoted by the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission in collaboration with the Ferrari Driver Academy and Iron Dames[1].
- 2023: Competed in the Indian F4 Championship, marking her single-seater debut[2].
- 2025: Announced as a driver for the 2025 F1 ACADEMY campaign, representing Tommy Hilfiger[2].
REPUTATION
At just 16 years old, Alba has established herself as a committed advocate for gender equality in motorsports. In 2024, she launched the Alba Academy initiative aimed at introducing more girls to racing, with plans to engage 15,000 girls across multiple countries in 2025. Her dedication to bridging the gender gap in motorsports, combined with her impressive on-track performances, has earned her partnership with major brands like Tommy Hilfiger.
FUTURE GOALS/PLANS
Alba’s ultimate ambition is to become Denmark’s first female Formula 1 driver. Her immediate focus is on the 2025 F1 ACADEMY season with MP Motorsport, starting in Shanghai on March 21-23, which will mark her first full Formula 4 season. Through her partnership with Tommy Hilfiger, she aims to continue championing inclusivity while developing as a racer at the highest levels.
