Carrie Shreiner
Formula racing // German
Of course I am super happy to win the race, I would have been happy with a podium but to win is even better. I didn’t expect it at all and had a great race where I focused on my strengths to finish in P1[2].
I drove GT cars from 2017 to two years ago, so to get back to a single-seater it was super difficult because suddenly the car is much lighter. You have no ABS and no traction control. The corner speeds are higher. So this was difficult but not the other way round. I’ve learned so much that it’s easier if I go back. I feel like I’m a better driver now[5].
It was really good for me to drive in these races as preparation for my main programme. So I could already show that it isn’t difficult for me to get back into a GT car. It gave me the confidence to have a good season[5].
Carrie Schreiner stands out as a versatile German motorsport talent who made history as the first female to win the X30 Junior Championship and continues to break barriers as a Sauber F1 Team Brand Ambassador while competing in GT racing.
EARLY YEARS
Born on September 14, 1998, in Völklingen, Saarland, Germany, Carrie grew up immersed in motorsport culture. Her father Frank, an amateur racing driver, introduced her to the racing world before she was even born—her mother famously drove around the Nordschleife while pregnant with her. Unlike many professional racers, she didn’t start karting until age ten, when a rainy summer vacation led to her first go-kart experience. This patient approach allowed her to develop a genuine passion for racing without pressure, with her natural talent quickly becoming evident once she began competing regularly.
EARLY SUCCESS
Carrie’s racing journey began formally in 2011 when she entered the ADAC Kart Masters series. Just a year later, with remarkable confidence, she declared “I will win this year”—and delivered on that promise by claiming the 2012 German ADAC Kart Master Series championship against more than 30 male competitors. This victory catapulted her career forward, though her path wasn’t without challenges. Her transition to single-seater racing in 2015 proved difficult, with limited success in both German and British Formula 4 championships. Recognizing the financial and competitive realities of the Formula pathway, she strategically pivoted to GT racing at 18, quickly finding her stride as a Lamborghini junior driver. This adaptability paid off with an impressive second-place finish in her first Lamborghini Super Trofeo Middle East Pro competition, followed by championship glory the next season with three race wins.
NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

- 2024: Tied all-time record with nine class wins at Nürburgring with GirlsOnly team.
- 2024: Appointed as Sauber F1 Team Brand Ambassador and mentor for F1 Academy drivers.
REPUTATION
Throughout her career, Schreiner has established herself as a resilient and versatile competitor who excels across multiple racing disciplines. Her reputation combines technical skill behind the wheel with growing influence as a leader and representative for women in motorsport. After overcoming early challenges in single-seaters, she found her greatest success in GT racing, demonstrating remarkable adaptability. Beyond her driving abilities, Carrie has become known for her media savvy and technical knowledge, skills she’s developed throughout her career progression. Her unique position as both a competitive driver and a Sauber ambassador highlights her growing influence in promoting inclusivity in a traditionally male-dominated sport, inspiring a new generation of female racers through both her performances and mentorship.
FUTURE GOALS/PLANS
For 2025, Carrie is making a strategic return to GT3 competition in the ADAC GT Masters, sharing an Audi R8 LM GT3 Evo2 with teammate Alain Valente after her two-year stint in the F1 Academy. She’ll maintain her connection to Formula racing as a brand ambassador for Sauber, which is set to become Audi’s Formula 1 works team in 2026. Her racing schedule includes continuing with the “Girls Only Team” at WS Racing for the Nürburgring Nordschleife events, competing in both NLS races and the legendary 24-hour contest. Beyond these immediate plans, Schreiner has set her sights on competing in premier endurance championships like IMSA and WEC, with the ultimate goal of racing at Le Mans. She’s also expressed openness to exploring prototype racing and Formula E, having already completed testing in electric formulas. Central to her long-term vision is expanding women’s participation in motorsport, using her platform to inspire those who’ve never considered racing as a possibility.
