GRRL! SUMMARY:

  • NATALIE DECKER is making her NASCAR comeback just six months after giving birth to son Ian, joining an exclusive club of only eight women who’ve competed in NASCAR’s national touring series after becoming mothers. With Wawa sponsorship backing her DGM Racing Chevrolet, she’ll need to qualify for the Xfinity Series race at Daytona on August 22nd.
  • Daytona has historically been DECKER’s strongest track, where she’s delivered career-best performances across three different series. Her fifth-place Truck Series finish there in 2020 stands as the best-ever by a woman at Daytona in that series, and she led seven laps in last year’s Xfinity season-opener at the same track.
  • The racing runs deep in DECKER’s family – her cousins Claire and Paige have also competed in NASCAR, while her husband Derek Lemke races in the Truck Series. She’s returning to a NASCAR landscape where women like KATHERINE LEGGE and full-time Truck driver TONI BREIDINGER are also making their mark at the sport’s highest levels.
