FULL BIO: Tina Pierce
Known as the “Fastest Chick in Oklahoma,” Tina Pierce transformed from a reluctant spectator into one of drag racing’s most formidable competitors, carving out her territory in the male-dominated world of high-speed quarter-mile competition. Her journey from motorcycle-riding eight-year-old to nationally recognized drag racer proves that sometimes the best drivers are the ones who never planned on getting behind the wheel in the first place.
EARLY YEARS
Growing up just outside Oklahoma City, Tina’s need for speed announced itself early when her parents bought her a motorcycle at age eight. She used that bike to keep pace with her older brother and his friends, developing an appetite for adrenaline that would eventually define her career. Her first “cool car” was a 1991 Mustang GT, but racing wasn’t on her radar until 2008 when her husband David built her a 1995 Mustang with a small block Chevy motor. “I was hesitant at first,” she admitted. “I really just liked going to watch him, but eventually I gave in and he hasn’t gotten me out of the car ever since!” That reluctant first drive launched a career that would make her a household name in Oklahoma’s drag racing scene.
OTHER INTERESTS
When she’s not terrorizing quarter-mile tracks, Tina runs a vehicle repair shop with her husband David, where they wrench on their own racing machines. She does much of her own maintenance work and genuinely loves getting her hands dirty—a skill set that’s served her well in a sport where mechanical knowledge can make the difference between victory and watching from the sidelines. The shop isn’t just their business; it’s their racing headquarters, where championship-winning builds come to life.
EARLY SUCCESS
Tina’s racing trajectory was nothing short of meteoric. After her 2008 debut, she quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with at Oklahoma’s Thunder Valley Raceway. In 2009, just one year after her first reluctant drive, she earned Rookie of the Year honors. She followed that up in 2010 with Transition Racer of the Year, proving her initial success wasn’t beginner’s luck. By 2011, she was dominating multiple venues, claiming the 6.50 Index class winner title at Ardmore Drag Way and the 10.00 Index winner at Tulsa Raceway Park. Her early years were marked by a progression from a 12-second quarter-mile Mustang to a Chevy S10 pickup truck that became the family’s signature racing machine.

INSPIRATIONS
Tina’s biggest inspiration and driving force has been her husband David, who not only built her first race car but continues to serve as her crew chief, mechanic, and biggest supporter. His encouragement transformed her from a hesitant spectator into a champion driver, and their partnership extends beyond marriage into a formidable racing team. While she hasn’t publicly cited other racing heroes, her early love affair with speed—sparked by that childhood motorcycle—laid the foundation for everything that followed.
REPUTATION
Pierce has earned respect throughout the drag racing community for her aggressive driving style and mechanical prowess, frequently appearing on Discovery Channel’s Street Outlaws and in racing publications. Known for her determination and hands-on approach to car building, she’s broken significant ground for women in Oklahoma’s drag racing scene. Media coverage has been consistently positive, highlighting her role as a trailblazer who’s never backed down from competition. Her “Fierce” nickname isn’t just marketing—it’s an accurate description of her approach to both driving and life.
FUTURE GOALS/PLANS
As of 2025, Tina continues competing at the highest levels with her latest build—a twin-turbo 509ci big block Chevy-powered ’66 Chevy Nova designed for better aerodynamics and stability at speed. She’s targeting consistent 7-second passes while competing in premier events like Drag Week and Sick Week. The Nova represents a significant step up from her beloved S10 truck, built with lessons learned from years of competition. While she hasn’t announced any retirement timeline, her current equipment and continued involvement in high-profile events suggest she’s nowhere near ready to hang up her helmet.
