Madeline Stewart is a third-generation racing driver from New Zealand who has built an impressive career spanning from karting to professional Porsche racing in North America, while also being selected for the prestigious Porsche Motorsport North America and Mobil 1 Female Driver Development Programme.
EARLY YEARS
Born on August 2, 2000, Madeline began her motorsport journey at the age of 9, racing go-karts at Kartsport Wellington in 2010. Coming from a family with a long-standing tradition in motorsports, she represents the third generation of racing drivers in her family. Her early karting experience in New Zealand provided the foundation for her racing career before she transitioned to competing in Australia.
EARLY SUCCESS
Madeline quickly demonstrated her natural talent by winning her local club’s annual enduro race in 2011, impressively starting on slick tires on a wet track. Her success continued as she progressed through junior categories, finishing 2nd at the South Island Sprint Championships in 2015 and earning pole position at the 2016 Kartsport New Zealand National Sprint Championship. A significant milestone came in 2017 when she became the first female to win a round in the 17-year history of the Australian Rotax Pro-Tour, while also securing the South Australian State Title that same year.
NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
- 2019: Began car racing career in the Super3 Series with Brad Jones Racing and finished 4th in the Western Australian Formula 1000 State Championship with Arise Racing.
- 2020: Finished 3rd in round 1 of the Super3 Series at Sydney Motorsport Park and won the Super3 class at Townsville in the Aussie Tin Tops.
- 2021: Selected as one of the inaugural Porsche New Zealand Scholarship recipients and competed in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Australia with Earl Bamber Motorsport/Porsche Team New Zealand.
- 2023: Achieved pole position and multiple podiums in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America series with JDX Racing, including at Sebring, Barber Motorsports Park, and Circuit of the Americas.
- 2024: Moved up to Porsche Carrera Cup North America with JDX Racing and recorded her first top 10 of the year at Road America.
REPUTATION
Stewart has established herself as a resilient and adaptable competitor in the racing community, particularly demonstrated during the COVID-19 pandemic when she successfully navigated racing in different series and cars. Her consistent performances in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America, where she secured third place in the 2023 championship, have elevated her profile in professional motorsports.
