Lyssia Baudet is a 21-year-old Belgian rally driver making waves in motorsport through her participation in the WRC Promoter’s Beyond Rally Women’s Driver Development Program.
EARLY YEARS
Born on November 1, 2002, Lyssia developed an innate passion for driving from a young age despite her parents’ initial reluctance about her career choice. “My parents never wanted me to become a driver,” she once revealed, yet her determination prevailed. Her first exposure to motorsport came at circuits where she eagerly absorbed advice and demonstrated exceptional learning abilities that would later distinguish her in racing circles.
EARLY SUCCESS
Baudet began her formal racing career participating in the Hankook 25 Hours VW Fun Cup in 2019 with Publincentive by 4Race. Her pivotal move came in 2022 when she transitioned to rallying, campaigning a Renault Clio Rally5 in the Clio Trophy Belgium and securing an impressive fourth place in her debut season. In 2023, she expanded her experience by participating in the ADAC Open e-Rally Cup, showcasing her versatility by competing in electric rally vehicles while continuing in the Clio Trophy Belgium.
NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
- 2022: Secured fourth place in the Clio Trophy Belgium debut season.
- 2024: Selected as a finalist in the Beyond Rally Women’s Driver Development Program.
- 2024: Debuted in the WRC with a 230-hp Rally3 car at the Central European Rally.

After facing suspension damage during the 2024 Central European Rally, she showcased remarkable mental strength by rebounding to achieve competitive stage times. FUTURE GOALS/PLANS
Baudet will compete against German driver Claire Schönborn at Rally Sweden in February 2025, with the winner securing a fully funded season in the Junior World Rally Championship. Supported by the Royal Belgian Automobile Club RACB, her immediate focus is on this decisive head-to-head competition, though her long-term aspirations clearly involve advancing further through the ranks of professional rally racing.
