• For the first time in TT history, two women are competing in Super Twins with VERONIKA HANKOCYOVA joining MARIA COSTELLO MBE on the grid. The Czech rider stepped up from three Manx Grand Prix campaigns, bringing her Wonder Woman Racing operation to tackle the Mountain Course despite significant mechanical challenges that had her team working until 5 AM to get the RS 660 Aprilia race-ready.
• HANKOCYOVA’s path to TT qualification hit every possible roadblock – from a crash at Horice that destroyed the engine to discovering her replacement powerplant only made 99 BHP to finding out her rear shock was completely broken during practice. The transparency is refreshing as she openly discussed the struggles rather than putting on a brave face, targeting the 105-mph benchmark needed to make the 60-rider field.
• Beyond her own racing ambitions, HANKOCYOVA is building something bigger with Wonder Woman Racing, supporting teammates Christina Jakech and Anna Malinova in Czech Republic while partnering with a mechanics school to get more women involved throughout the sport.
