Sita's bio:

Sita Vanmeert is a promising 18-year-old Belgian driver who made her car racing debut in 2024, quickly establishing herself with class wins and impressive performances in the Ligier European Series.

EARLY YEARS

Sita began her racing journey in karting after being introduced to the sport by her father, who raced cars recreationally. This early exposure through family played a crucial role in shaping her career path. She progressed significantly in karting, competing in series such as the IAME Euro Series, IAME Benelux, IAME Winter Cup, and the FIA Karting European Championship.

EARLY SUCCESS

In 2024, Vanmeert transitioned from karting to car racing, making her debut in the Ligier European Series with the Les Deux Arbres team. Despite limited track time and a late deal, she immediately impressed at Circuit de Catalunya with class wins and a top-five finish in the JS2 R category. Her performance continued to improve throughout the season, culminating in her maiden podium at the Portimão finale, demonstrating remarkable adaptability and race craft for a rookie driver.

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

  • 2024: Secured fourth and fifth place finishes overall at Spa-Francorchamps in the Ligier European Series, marking her best results of the season to date[1].
  • 2024: Collected her maiden podium with a third-place finish in the JS2R class at Portimão in the Ligier European Series finale[4].
  • 2024: Finished 7th in the drivers’ standings with 86 points in her first-ever car racing campaign[4].

REPUTATION

Sita has quickly established herself as an adaptable and resilient competitor. Her ability to perform strongly despite limited experience and unexpected changes in racing programs demonstrates remarkable potential. Throughout her rookie season, she consistently improved her performance, showing growing confidence and race craft. Her progression from top-five finishes to podium results within a single season highlights her as one of the most promising female talents emerging in European sportscar racing.
