Sherrie-Ann's bio:

Sherrie-Ann Powell is a British rookie racer who made her debut in the Junior Saloon Car Championship in 2024, demonstrating resilience and steady improvement throughout her first season behind the wheel of a Citroën Saxo VTR 1600.

EARLY YEARS

Details about Powell’s early life, family background, and childhood remain undocumented. How she first discovered racing, when the bug bit, and what led her to the grid are part of a story yet to be told.

OTHER INTERESTS

Information about activities and interests outside motorsports has not been publicly shared.

EARLY SUCCESS

Sherrie-Ann Powell launched her racing career in 2024 with the Junior Saloon Car Championship, making her debut at Brands Hatch. The start wasn’t without drama—she rolled her car during pre-season testing, a baptism by fire that could have ended things before they began. Instead, she lined up 21st on the grid for race one, held her position after a clean start, and finished where she started. Race two brought wet conditions and a five-position jump to 16th, proving she could handle whatever the British weather threw at her.[1][5]

A crash at a subsequent event threatened to derail her season, but Orex Competition NW rallied behind their rookie driver and got her back on track. At Pembrey, Powell delivered her strongest qualifying performance to date—17th fastest, beating several competitive drivers—and backed it up with two 17th-place finishes across three races. In changeable conditions, she closed the gap to the midfield, showing the kind of determination that makes people take notice.[1]

Powell became a regular fixture in the top 20 as the season progressed, visiting Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Cadwell Park, Castle Combe, and Pembrey. At the season finale, she started 22nd and gained two positions on the opening lap before the race was interrupted by a safety car and red flag following a series of incidents, including a rollover involving Ben Smiles. She brought home a double top-20 finish to cap off her rookie campaign, ending the year 26th in the championship with 19 points from seven races.[1][2][5]

NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

  • 2024: Made Junior Saloon Car Championship debut at Brands Hatch, finishing 21st in race one and 16th in wet conditions for race two after rolling the car in pre-season testing.[1][5]
  • 2024: Achieved career-best qualifying position of 17th at Pembrey, with two 17th-place race finishes.[1]
  • 2024: Competed in seven races driving a Citroën Saxo VTR 1600 for Orex Competition NW, finishing 26th in the championship with 19 points and consistent top-20 results.[1][2]

INSPIRATIONS

No information about Powell’s racing heroes, influences, or sources of motivation has been documented.

REPUTATION

While her public profile is still developing, Powell earned respect for bouncing back from setbacks—both the pre-season roll and a mid-season crash—to finish her rookie season. Her steady progress throughout 2024, particularly at Pembrey where she posted her best qualifying and matched it with consistent race results, suggested a driver learning quickly and refusing to be intimidated by either the competition or the chaos that is junior-level saloon car racing.

FUTURE GOALS/PLANS

Powell’s plans for 2025 and beyond have not been publicly announced.
