British racer Gracie Mitchell has made her mark in GT racing and endurance competition while setting a world record as the first woman to complete the British 24-hour kart race solo—a feat that cemented her reputation as one of motorsport’s most determined barrier-breakers.

EARLY YEARS

Gracie Mitchell’s motorsport journey began at age 11 at an indoor kart circuit in southern Spain, where something clicked. What started as a curious kid trying out karts turned into years of National-level karting competition, including forays into International racing. Her 2025 solo 24-hour karting record attempt—completed despite starting near the back of the pack after minimal qualifying—showcased the mental toughness and strategic thinking that have become her calling cards. “The beginning of the race was just about getting the start over and done with,” she explained. “I only did a couple laps in qualifying to scrub my tyres in, so I was starting towards the back of the pack, however the start of the race I just held back to avoid getting any collisions as I had to minimise damage to my kart and myself.”[1]

It’s really important to me to take on these kinds of challenges, as I hope to be a role model for the younger generation of girls coming into the sport—to show them that it is possible!”[3] Her career statistics—59 races, 12 podiums, and two fastest laps across all categories—demonstrate consistent performance rather than flashes of brilliance, exactly the profile teams look for in endurance racing.

FUTURE GOALS/PLANS

Mitchell is deep into her 2025 Iberian Supercars campaign with Tockwith Motorsports, having secured at least one podium in each of the first three rounds at Jarama, Algarve, and Vila Real. “So far this season has been really successful!” she noted mid-season. “I am over half way through the season now with three rounds… and so far I have achieved at least one podium each round which has been critical for championship points.”[3] But she’s not satisfied with podiums. “The bar is always set high and I am still aiming for a win this year!”[3] she declared, making it clear that her Estoril victory in 2024 wasn’t a one-off.

She’s also continued development in GB4/F4 machinery, participating in a test day at Donington as part of her ongoing skill-building. With continued backing from Tockwith and a growing profile in European GT racing, the 18-year-old is positioning herself for the next step up the motorsport ladder. Her stated goal extends beyond personal achievement: to prove that women’s aspirations in motorsport are limitless, a mission she’s pursuing one podium—and one world record—at a time.
