FULL BIO: Cali Neff
Cali Neff is a third-generation drag racer who recently made her mark in the sport by winning the 2024 Rooftec Comp Clash at the Toyota U.S. Nationals.
EARLY YEARS
Growing up in a family deeply embedded in motorsports, Cali was exposed to drag racing from a young age. Her father, Clint Neff, is a five-time national event winner who started competing around 1994, while her grandfather began racing in the 1960s. At the age of 11, she began her competitive journey in Junior Dragster events at Bandimere Speedway, joining other young racers in the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) program designed for competitors aged 5-20.
EARLY SUCCESS
After starting in Junior Dragsters, Cali progressed to compete in her own dragster in the Competition Eliminator class, following the family tradition. Her father’s pride in her racing was evident when he stated, “I think it is a lot more exciting when she goes off the starting line than it is when I am racing.”
NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
- 2024: Won the Rooftec Comp Clash at the Toyota U.S. Nationals, defeating Kayla Mozeris in the final round with a 7.65 ET to earn a $30,000 payout plus bonuses[1].
- 2024: Defeated defending Comp Clash champion Chase Williams, Scott Linder, and three-time U.S. Nationals runner-up Rick Brown en route to the final round at Indianapolis[1].
REPUTATION
As a rising star in Competition Eliminator, Cali has begun to establish herself as a formidable competitor in her own right while honoring her family’s racing legacy. Her 2024 victory in the Rooftec Comp Clash was particularly significant as it featured the first all-female final round against fellow second-generation racer Kayla Mozeris, highlighting the growing presence of women in drag racing.
FUTURE GOALS/PLANS
Her father has plans to support her career growth, including expanding her racing potential with additional cars and attending Division 4 Comp races.
