95th Indianapolis 500 – Simona de Silvestro has a lucky escape at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, after a mechanical failure shot the car up into the air, overturning and catching on fire

She would escape with burn injuries but would be clear to drive. She would still manage to qualify for the race with her “new” car, nicknamed Porkchop because of how heavy it was, but it would be tough sledding in the race (and the rest of the season) with this inferior chassis
