Welcome to DRIVE with Hollie McRae & Luis Moya.

Luis Moya’s reputation precedes him; as a skilled and dedicated co-driver, as a trusted and uplifting friend and as champion of motorsport across the world. In today’s episode, I learn how he has built and maintained this reputation through living a life that he truly loves.

Luis is best known for his career in the co-driver’s seat alongside Carlos Sainz, during which they won 2 World Rally Championship titles (and came close a number of other times). The pair were formidable on the stages and throughout the podcast Luis lets us into some of the reasons why this may be.

The Sainz vs McRae battle was a cornerstone of 90s rallying and how luck are we to have stories of those times shared by someone who was right in the mix!

This episode is the last of those I managed to record all the way back in September ahead of the McRae Rally Challenge and the joy that Luis shares when talking about reuniting with friends from the WRC days just proves how special a time in his life that was. But, he has achieved so much more since stepping back from the car itself at the end of the 2002 season and lets us into what life looks like now for Luis Moya.
