GRRL! SUMMARY:
- ALICE BUCKLEY put in a solid performance in her self-run Holden Commodore ZB, finishing 15th out of 20 drivers at the Dunlop Super2 Sydney 500 opener. Running her own Alice Buckley Motorsport operation, she demonstrated the kind of determination we love to see from independent competitors taking on the established teams.
- While the front-runners battled for the lead with Brad Vaughan ultimately taking the win, BUCKLEY quietly did her job in the midfield, keeping her nose clean in what could have been a chaotic series opener. Her finish ahead of several more established operations shows she’s not just making up numbers in this competitive field.
- The race saw plenty of drama with series debutants struggling – Bayley Hall stalled at the start and Tommy Smith had multiple incidents – but BUCKLEY avoided the carnage that caught out others. Her steady approach in Race 1 sets up a solid foundation for the remaining Sydney 500 rounds this weekend.
UPCOMING:
- Dunlop Super2 Sydney 500 Race 2
