Female drivers from a racing team based in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture, spoke to Mayor Nanba about their aspirations for the upcoming race season.

Shizuoka City’s professional racing team, “Fuji Shizuoka Racing,” participates in the “KYOJO CUP,” a formula race specifically for female drivers, while also working to promote the charms of Shizuoka City.

Ahead of the race season’s opening in May, this season’s drivers, Rina Ito and Paige Radaz, visited Mayor Takashi Nanba on April 7th to express their enthusiasm.

Rina Ito (Fuji Shizuoka Racing): “I want to win. It’s a race, after all. I consider myself to be quite lucky, so I want to seize this opportunity.”

Paige Radaz (Australia): “I would be happy to bring home a trophy. I will do my best to stand on the podium.”

Mayor Nanba expressed his expectations, saying, “Please continue to strive for even greater heights.”

Fuji Shizuoka Racing will compete in the opening race at Fuji Speedway on May 9th.
