Video Description from YouTube:

Let’s test drive and review the 2026 Lexus NX 450h+ All-Wheel-Drive (AWD)! And thanks to @homefieldapparel for sponsoring this video!

The current Lexus NX has a regular gasoline version, a non-plug-in hybrid, and a plug-in hybrid. This is the plug-in NX, and I love a plug-in hybrid. It has a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine and hybrid system that makes a combined 304 horsepower, which goes to all four wheels.

In Lexus’ current 2026 model-year lineup on the American market, the NX is the second-cheapest SUV with a base price of $46,000 U.S. dollars. Below the NX is the teeny, tiny UX hybrid with a $38,000 starting price, and above it is the $47,000 RZ electric SUV and the very popular Lexus RX SUV, which starts at $51,000. This NX has a panoramic glass roof and a bunch of optional features, bringing it to $67,000.

The Lexus NX debuted in Beijing in 2014. Lexus said the NX was a compact crossover meant for “urban” and “active” lifestyles, and these terms were super common in the automotive industry at the time.

I think that’s because in the mid 2010s, more and more millennials were reaching a time when they had buying power for a new car, and automakers wanted to land their business with terminology they might like — such as being active, sport-oriented city folk who got out and did interesting things.

The first-generation of the Lexus NX lasted until 2021, when the current second generation replaced it. The current NX doesn’t look drastically different from the original from a decade ago, but the package also doesn’t look super old.

This fits with the early-2020s Lexus design language, which is full of those big, black grilles. And if the next version of the car follows Lexus’ general design language for the back half of the 2020s, I think this front grille will probably shift to being more paint-matched and integrated into the body of the car, like we’re seeing on the new Lexus RX and TX SUVs.

When the original NX debuted in 2014, its powertrain options included a hybrid and a turbocharged version. That sounds totally unremarkable, since a lot of modern vehicles offer those options for powertrains. But it is historically significant, because it was Lexus’ first production car with a turbocharged engine.

In this video, we’ll talk all about the NX: interior and exterior styling; performance; handling; technology; infotainment system; cargo and interior space; the premium sound system; how it’s an entry point for Toyota-Lexus luxury; and so much more.

Thanks for watching my YouTube channel. Enjoy the drive (and the video)!
