The first round of the 2026 Prospec Formula Drift Championship at Road Atlanta definitely didn’t go as planned… but that’s racing.

Practice day threw us a curveball when we ran into engine issues that forced the team into a full motor. It wad a freak accident with the oem oil pump blowing up and shooting through the pan after 3 laps of practice. The boys put in WORK and had the car back out on track for practice the very next day. Unfortunately our bad luck wasn’t over yet — transmission and clutch problems ended our weekend early in Top 32.

Even with all the chaos, this weekend reminded us why this sport is so special. The dedication from the crew, the nonstop problem solving, and the ability to keep pushing no matter what is something I’ll never take for granted. We may not be leaving Formula Drift Atlanta with the result we wanted, but we’re leaving motivated, grateful, and ready to bounce back stronger at the next round in Connecticut.
