• KATHERINE LEGGE, 45, will attempt the historic Indy 500-Coca-Cola 600 double on May 24, driving the No. 11 for A.J. Foyt Motorsports and No. 78 for Live Fast Motorsports.
• First non-American attempting the double, LEGGE enters her fifth Indy 500 with 22nd-place best finish (2012) and eight Cup starts with 35th at Watkins Glen last week.
• JANET GUTHRIE pioneered women’s motorsports in 1976-77, failing Indy qualifying before becoming first woman on NASCAR superspeedway, then first woman to qualify and race Indy 500 following year.
• Only Tony Stewart completed all 1,100 miles with top-six finishes in both races (2001). Kyle Larson’s recent attempts ended in crashes after rain delays affected 2024-25 doubles.
