GRRL! SUMMARY:
- MATHILDE MARTINEZ took a double win at the FIM Sand Races World Championship opener in Morocco, giving the Honda-mounted French rider an early series lead in her Moto Women class debut.
- The 27-year-old brings serious sand pedigree: French Sand Championship winner, Enduropale du Touquet Pas-de-Calais female class leader, and multi-time French national Motocross Champion across 125cc and senior women’s titles.
- MARTINEZ began riding at three, raced at seven, and claimed back-to-back 125cc women’s national Motocross crowns in 2016-17 before taking the senior title in 2018 — a CV built for world-level sand competition.
- Honda SR Motoblouz support has enabled MARTINEZ to contest the full five-round FIM championship; she works with coach Christophe Meyer and ex-FIM MX3 world champion Pierre-Alexandre Renet for physical conditioning.
UPCOMING:
- Bibione Sand Storm, Round 2 of the 2026 FIM Sand Races World Championship — Bibione, Italy, October 24-25, 2026
