Video Description from YouTube:
Some cars are just transportation. Others become part of the family. ❤️
This is the story of Naoko Nishimoto, a woman from Nagasaki, Japan,
who spent 25 years behind the wheel of her Mazda RX-7.
She bought the FD-generation RX-7 at the age of 55, an age when most
people wouldn’t think of buying a lightweight rotary sports car, and
she kept it for a quarter of a century. She drove it often, looked after
it carefully, and treated it the way you’d treat a member of your own
family. The FD RX-7 is one of the most celebrated Japanese sports cars
ever built, known for its sleek design, its balanced handling, and its
twin-rotor engine with a sound unlike anything else on the road. Owning
and maintaining one for this long takes real dedication.
As she approached her 80th birthday, Naoko decided to give up her
driver’s license. At a special event held at a local Mazda dealership,
she handed the car back to the company, so it could be refurbished and
preserved as part of Mazda’s official heritage collection. Instead of
selling it or leaving it to sit unused, she made sure her car would be
cared for and remembered.
Stories like this are a reminder that cars can be so much more than
machines. They carry memories, routines, and whole chapters of a
person’s life. For rotary fans, Mazda enthusiasts, and anyone who has
ever loved a car, this one is hard not to feel.
