GRRL! SUMMARY:
- Four women are confirmed for Formula E’s Berlin rookie test next month, with BIANCA BUSTAMANTE landing a permanent development driver role at Cupra Kiro and ABBI PULLING securing a multi-year simulator and rookie driver deal with Nissan. Both scored their spots after proving themselves – BUSTAMANTE as an F1 Academy race winner and PULLING as the reigning F1 Academy champion who topped timesheets at the all-female Jarama test.
- Nissan’s Tommaso Volpe didn’t mince words about why they picked PULLING, praising her “speed, commitment, and professionalism” and noting how she “adapted incredibly quickly” to top the timesheets at Jarama – no small feat in Formula E’s notoriously tricky cars. The team created a comprehensive role for her with “many responsibilities” in what they’re calling a long-term collaboration.
- Joining BUSTAMANTE and PULLING in Berlin will be JAMIE CHADWICK with Jaguar and ELLA LLOYD with McLaren, creating the strongest female presence yet at a Formula E rookie test. The six-hour session follows the penultimate double-header weekend, with Formula E also planning another all-female test at Valencia in October as part of pre-season running.
UPCOMING:
- Formula E Berlin Rookie Test – July (post double-header weekend)
- Formula E All-Female Test – Valencia, October
