GRRL! SUMMARY:
- DORIANE PIN delivered her strongest FRECA performance of the season with a P17 finish at Hungaroring, marking her third top-20 result. The Mercedes-backed driver who leads F1 Academy showed steady improvement across the weekend, moving from P20 to P17 after post-race penalties. Her consistent pace and race management demonstrate the foundation building that often goes unnoticed but matters for long-term development.
- MAYA WEUG stepped into the Saintéloc Racing seat on short notice to replace injured Tim Gerhards, showing the kind of adaptability we love to see. The Ferrari Driver Academy member, currently third in F1 Academy, managed a P22 finish in Race 1 despite the last-minute call-up. Her weekend ended early in Race 2 due to an incident with Édouard Borgna, earning her a five-place grid penalty for her next FRECA appearance.
- Both drivers demonstrated the grinding reality of FRECA competition, where overtaking at Hungaroring proves notoriously difficult and progress often comes from others’ mistakes rather than on-track passes. PIN’s post-race comments about improving racecraft and looking ahead to Paul Ricard show the methodical approach needed in this series. While neither scored points, the valuable seat time in faster machinery continues building their foundations for future success.
