GRRL! SUMMARY:
- AIMEE WATTS delivered a masterclass in racecraft at Snetterton, charging from 16th on the grid to an impressive sixth place finish in race two. The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Supercup runner-up showed she’s lost none of her edge during the off-season, methodically picking off competitors while maintaining the consistency that nearly won her a championship last year. Her top-10 finish in both races proves she’s ready for whatever 2025 throws at her.
- Sisters ANNA and LOUISA GETLEY made the ambitious leap from historic pre-war Bentleys to modern Mazda MX-5s, and honestly? They nailed it. Despite the completely different driving dynamics, both sisters showed impressive pace progression throughout the weekend. ANNA secured 23rd in her debut while LOUISA overcame early race retirement to bounce back with 24th in race two, proving that racing instincts translate across eras.
- The weekend showcased exactly why we need more women taking on these competitive grids. While the field was stacked with experienced MX-5 runners, our three drivers held their own and gained valuable positions through smart racecraft rather than just hoping for lucky breaks. WATTS’ charge through the field was particularly satisfying to watch as she systematically dismantled the competition ahead of her with precise overtaking moves.
