TAYLOR HOAR Becomes First Vermont Driver Selected for Kulwicki Program

TAYLOR HOAR broke new ground as Vermont’s first-ever Kulwicki Driver Development Program finalist and the first female finalist since Kate Re in 2022. The 22-year-old daughter of eight-time American-Canadian Tour champion Brian Hoar earned this prestigious recognition after an impressive Late Model debut season with five top-five and 10 top-10 finishes across 22 races.
Her 2024 campaign included historic achievements that we’ve been waiting way too long to see – HOAR became the first woman to record a podium finish at Thunder Road International Speedbowl in over a decade, and pulled off the same feat at the Milk Bowl while qualifying on merit without needing a provisional. These breakthrough performances earned her the Ed Carrol Memorial Sportsmanship Award.
The KDDP program puts its money where its mouth is, giving each of the five finalists $7,000 plus professional development training in fitness, media presentation, and social media. HOAR will compete for an additional $30,000 in prize money distributed among the top three finalists, with judging based on both on-track performance and community engagement – including her inspiring work with Camp Ta-Kum-Ta for children battling cancer.
