• ALISHA PALMOWSKI stepped up big time at Purple Sectors’ charity sim racing event, joining forces with F1 commentators and fellow drivers to give young people with epilepsy what they’re usually denied – a real shot at competitive racing, even if it’s in the simulator.
• The Milton Keynes event raised over £10,000 for Young Epilepsy while letting seven young people with the condition work alongside their racing heroes in roles from commentary to camera work – the kind of industry connections that actually matter when you’re trying to break into motorsports.
• While we love seeing drivers like PALMOWSKI use their platform for good causes, it’s worth noting that this event highlights just how many barriers still exist for young people with disabilities in motorsports – barriers that shouldn’t exist in the first place when talent and passion are there.
