GRRL! SUMMARY:
- Two-time Trans Am champion AMY RUMAN will miss the 2026 season opener at Sebring – her first absence from a season opener in her Trans Am career. The Hall of Famer suffered a complex fracture to her right ankle, tibia, and fibula in an October off-track accident that required two surgeries and extensive titanium hardware.
- RUMAN’s recovery is progressing steadily, with the two-month non-weight-bearing phase now complete and active physical therapy underway. She remains determined to return to her red No. 23 Corvette this season while working to restore ankle mobility and strength.
- The injury marks a setback for RUMAN’s pursuit of a third Trans Am championship as the series celebrates its 60th anniversary. Ruman Racing itself marks three decades in the paddock, a legacy that began with her father Bob’s debut in 1996 before AMY took over the No. 23 in 2005.
UPCOMING:
- Trans Am Series Season Opener – March 1, 2026 at Sebring International Raceway
