GRRL! SUMMARY:
- CARRIE SCHREINER and teammate Alain Valente endured a frustrating weekend at Zandvoort, where their Land Motorsport Audi struggled in mixed conditions. After a promising season opener at Lausitzring that netted seventh place and Schreiner’s first points since 2020, the duo arrived at Zandvoort—where Schreiner had claimed her first F1 Academy victory—with high expectations that went unmet.
- The weekend’s best result came in Race 1 with an 11th-place finish after SCHREINER took over from Valente mid-race and capitalized on a late-race incident. Despite qualifying sixth in wet conditions, Valente lost ground early in the dry race, dropping to 11th before the driver change. A safety car period in the final minutes allowed Schreiner to gain one position when a competitor went off track.
- Race 2 proved even more challenging as wet conditions exposed the Audi’s handling issues, with the team finishing 13th. SCHREINER started from 11th but couldn’t make progress in the tricky conditions, handing over to Valente who was unable to recover positions despite late-race incidents ahead of them. The German driver didn’t mince words about the disappointing performance, posting on Instagram that “from start to finish, nothing went our way.”
