• CHLOE CHAMBERS absolutely demolished expectations at Formula E’s second women’s test in Valencia, topping both sessions with a 1:22.767 that was just four-tenths off full-timer Joel Eriksson’s best time and actually quicker than rookie Pepe Martí. After only a day and a half in the car, the F1 Academy driver proved that when women get proper track time, they can match the boys who’ve been doing this all season.
• ABBI PULLING continued building on her Nissan simulator role with another strong showing, finishing second behind CHAMBERS and highlighting how that behind-the-scenes work translates to real speed. Meanwhile, JAMIE CHADWICK and JUJU NODA joined the 14-driver field that finally got the two three-hour sessions they deserved instead of last year’s single session that had them chasing ghosts.
• The performance gap tells the real story here – last year’s Madrid test saw women two seconds off the pace, but Valencia proved that with proper preparation time, these drivers can run with anyone. The upcoming Gen4 cars with power steering will eliminate the physical barrier that’s been holding women back, and suddenly a full-time female Formula E seat doesn’t look like a pipe dream anymore – it looks inevitable.
