• Five women drivers took center stage at Silverstone’s non-championship British F4 round supporting Formula 1, proving once again that when given the platform, female racers deliver. ELLA LLOYD bounced back from first-race contact to claim a stellar tenth place in race two for Rodin Motorsport, while newcomer AVA DOBSON turned heads with an incredible 17-position gain across the weekend, finishing 15th in her series debut for Chris Dittmann Racing.
• The weekend showcased serious racecraft from the women’s field, with ESMEE KOSTERMAN briefly holding the overall fastest lap in race two despite being spun on lap one – talk about making a statement. NINA GADEMAN grabbed 16th in race one on her championship return, while EMILY COTTY consistently ran in the top-20 for Fortec Motorsport, challenging for top-15 positions throughout both races.
• This wasn’t just about participation – these drivers were genuinely competitive in a 26-car field at one of motorsport’s most prestigious venues. Lloyd’s qualifying performance put her 11th overall and leading her Rodin Motorsport teammates, while the close midfield battles throughout both races proved that talent, not gender, determines track position. With British F4 now sharing the F1 support package alongside F2 and F3, this exposure is exactly what women’s racing needs.
