GRRL! SUMMARY:

  • ELLA LLOYD delivered when conditions got gnarly at Barcelona, qualifying an impressive 18th in wet weather after rain wiped out Saturday’s action. While her rivals struggled with the changing track, she found speed in sector one and showed the car control that’s going to serve her well in British F4.
  • Race two ended before it really began for LLOYD when Jenzer Motorsport’s Edouard Borgna sent both drivers into the gravel at turn two. It’s frustrating when you’re not the architect of your own misfortune, but that’s racing when you’re mixing it up with 35 other drivers who all think they deserve the apex.
  • The final race turned into a masterclass in damage limitation after LLOYD picked up front wing damage following an off-track moment. She dropped to 33rd but clawed back to 26th through two safety car restarts and some smart positioning, gaining three spots in the final two-lap shootout to salvage something from a weekend that had all the ingredients for more.
