GRRL! SUMMARY:
- EMILY COTTY delivered a breakthrough weekend at Barcelona, securing her first-ever top 10 qualifying position (P10) and becoming only the fifth woman in Italian Formula 4 history to achieve this milestone. Working with driver coach Garry Findlay, she found exceptional pace in Q2, setting a 1:42.018 that put her just half a second off pole position and demonstrated she belongs among the series’ elite drivers.
- The British-New Zealander followed up her historic qualifying with her strongest race result to date, finishing P11 in Race 2 and narrowly missing points while securing her best rookie classification (P5 of 21). Despite starting tenth and losing one position early, COTTY showed impressive racecraft by maintaining competitive pace throughout and building gaps to cars behind while staying within striking distance of the points-paying positions.
- Racing in what’s widely regarded as one of the world’s most competitive junior championships, COTTY swept both Female Trophy wins at the Barcelona round while showcasing her development in her first full single-seater season. Her weekend performance included consistently running just outside the top ten in a field of almost 40 entries, proving she can battle competitively at the sharp end of international F4 competition.
UPCOMING:
- Italian F4 Season Finale at Misano – October 11-12
