GRRL! SUMMARY:
- EMILY COTTY delivered her strongest qualifying performance of the Italian F4 season, securing 19th position at Imola and coming within a second of pole position. The R-ace GP driver consistently outpaced fellow female competitors PAYTON WESTCOTT and KORNELIA OLKUCKA throughout practice and qualifying sessions, showing the kind of pace we’ve been waiting to see from her all season.
- Weekend chaos struck hard when race two was indefinitely suspended after a massive 15-car crash at the start line, collecting both WESTCOTT and OLKUCKA in the melee. COTTY managed to thread through the carnage unscathed despite not seeing the starting lights due to sun glare – the kind of racecraft that separates survivors from statistics in junior formulas.
- While COTTY’s race one ended with a puncture after climbing to 21st, she bounced back in race three to finish 19th overall after post-race penalties promoted her from 23rd. WESTCOTT also benefited from the penalties to claim 20th, giving both drivers something to build on heading into the final two rounds of what’s been a challenging but educational season.
