GRRL! SUMMARY:
- TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E development driver GABRIELA JÍLKOVÁ absolutely demolished the SUV record at Britain’s historic Shelsley Walsh hillclimb, clocking 31.28 seconds in the electric Cayenne prototype and crushing the previous Bentley Bentayga record by over 4 seconds. We love seeing a proper racer behind the wheel showing what these EVs can actually do when someone who knows how to drive gets their hands on them.
- The performance numbers speak for themselves – JÍLKOVÁ’s launch matched single-seater racecars with slick tires despite running road-legal summer rubber, covering the first 60 yards in just 1.94 seconds. When your electric SUV is keeping pace with purpose-built racecars off the line, you know the engineers got something right, and more importantly, you’ve got the right driver extracting every bit of that performance.
- While Richard Hammond got the publicity footage towing his vintage Lagonda around, it was JÍLKOVÁ who delivered the headline-grabbing performance that matters. The Cayenne Electric’s 7,716-pound tow rating and Active Ride suspension are nice talking points, but watching a development driver from Formula E extract maximum performance from a camouflaged prototype is the real story here.
