GRRL! SUMMARY:
- The weekend at VIR proved that sometimes speed isn’t everything—HANNAH GRISHAM and HANNAH GREENEMEIER showed they belong in Silver class contention with consistent top-ten pace, but Saturday’s weather chaos turned their tire gamble into a nightmare. When the rain returned on the formation lap after they’d chosen slicks, we watched two skilled drivers navigate an impossible situation that left them scrambling for damage control rather than fighting for the podium their pace deserved.
- LAURA HAYES continues to be the most compelling story in GT4 America’s AM class, and VIR was supposed to be her breakthrough moment. After qualifying second in both sessions and leading the class on Sunday, a fuel pump failure with eight minutes to go turned potential victory into heartbreak. We’re watching a rookie who clearly has the speed to win—she just needs the racing gods to stop conspiring against her at the worst possible moments.
- Sunday’s race perfectly encapsulated how thin the margins are in GT4 racing—GREENEMEIER fought back from contact that cost her the car’s hood, while HAYES was cruising to what should have been her first win when mechanical gremlins struck. GRISHAM’s retirement after contact during the final restart capped off a weekend where all three women had the pace to contend but couldn’t catch the breaks needed to convert speed into silverware.
