GRRL! SUMMARY:

  • Sports marketing powerhouse WePlay just signed with Iron Dames to amplify their brand globally, and honestly, it’s about time someone recognized what DEBORAH MAYER built here. Since 2018, this isn’t just another racing team – we’re talking about the crew that became the first all-female squad to actually win a race in the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2023 and snag second in the championship.
  • But Iron Dames didn’t stop at motorsport domination. They launched into equestrian with the “Cannes Stars powered by Iron Dames” and immediately started collecting wins in Doha, Saint-Tropez, Monaco, and Riesenbeck. Then they went ahead and became the first all-female team to win the entire GCL championship because apparently one historic breakthrough wasn’t enough.
  • The partnership comes as CMO FRANZISKA BAIER noted they’re in “rapid growth” mode, which tracks when you’re breaking barriers in two different sports. WePlay’s Sharon Bennett gets it – this isn’t just about promoting athletes, it’s about “challenging stereotypes and changing the narrative,” which is exactly the energy we need more of in sports marketing.

UPCOMING:

  • Monaco Comets GCL debut season
  • 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship
