GRRL! SUMMARY:

  • JESSICA HAWKINS faced another frustrating weekend at Spa as the only woman in the 77-car field, with Comtoyou Racing qualifying 70th overall after a rain-soaked qualifying session plagued by red flags. Despite the poor grid position, teammate Antoine Potty delivered an impressive opening stint, climbing over 10 positions in the first hour to put the team in recovery mode.
  • The promising comeback was cut short just two hours into the race when the #70 Ferrari rear-ended their Aston Martin at high speed during a Full Course Yellow period. While the initial damage appeared minimal, closer inspection revealed extensive chassis damage that ended their race before HAWKINS could even take her stint behind the wheel—marking her second consecutive DNF after the Monza withdrawal.
  • Despite the heartbreak, HAWKINS maintained her characteristic resilience, joining the commentary team and reflecting positively on gaining valuable experience in her first-ever 24-hour race. She acknowledged the unforgiving nature of GT3 racing with 77 cars on track, emphasizing her development focus as the team looks ahead to the Nürburgring round hoping to finally complete a full race distance this season.
