GRRL! SUMMARY:

  • KADENCE DAVENPORT made her home track debut at Iowa Speedway, finishing 17th out of 27 in the Atlas 150 after two spins. The 21-year-old from Slater is running a three-race ARCA schedule this season with family funding, transitioning from 14 years of go-kart racing to stock cars.
  • She was one of four women competing in Friday’s race, and she’s not backing down from the challenge of earning respect in a male-dominated field. “Once you do finally earn that respect from everybody else around you, it’s a lot more fulfilling,” DAVENPORT said, embracing the difficulty rather than shying away from it.
  • With Iowa racing legend Janet Guthrie as inspiration – the first woman to qualify for the Indy 500 and lead a NASCAR lap – DAVENPORT has her sights set on Indianapolis Motor Speedway and a long-term racing career. Her family-supported journey shows how grassroots funding can still open doors for determined drivers willing to prove themselves.

UPCOMING:

  • NASCAR Xfinity Series Race at Iowa Speedway
  • ARCA Menards Series Championship Rounds
