KATHERINE LEGGE Takes on Brickyard 400 Double-Duty Weekend at Indianapolis

• KATHERINE LEGGE is adding the Brickyard 400 to her growing 2025 NASCAR Cup Series schedule with Live Fast Motorsports, marking her fifth Cup start since becoming the first woman to compete in NASCAR’s top series since Danica Patrick’s retirement in 2018. She’ll pull double-duty at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, also running Saturday’s Xfinity Series event with sponsorship from Desnuda Tequila and Droplight.
• While LEGGE’s road course performances have shown steady improvement – from a DNF debut at Phoenix to a best Cup finish of P19 at Chicago Street Circuit – her oval stats tell a different story with DNFs plaguing four of her five Xfinity starts on ovals this season. The switch from expected road courses like Watkins Glen to the flat oval at Indianapolis raises questions about strategy.
• The Indianapolis venue isn’t foreign territory for LEGGE, who holds the record for fastest qualifying time by a female driver at the Indianapolis 500 (set in 2023) and has four Indy 500 starts between 2012-2024 with a best finish of P22. Her IMSA SportsCar Championship background and familiarity with the iconic track could be the combination needed to finally crack a strong oval finish in the next-gen car.
