KATHERINE LEGGE Wrecked at Rockingham, Expands to 12-Race NASCAR Schedule

• KATHERINE LEGGE’s second NASCAR Cup Series start ended in frustration at Rockingham when William Sawalich made contact with her No. 53 Chevy on Lap 53, sending her into the wall and ending her race early. The 44-year-old British driver had been running conservatively in the back, focused on gaining experience and just finishing the race, when the collision left her feeling “helpless” about the situation she couldn’t control.
• Despite missing the initial 38-car field during qualifying due to lack of ownership points, LEGGE secured a ride swap with financial backing from e.l.f. Cosmetics, replacing J.J. Yeley at Joey Gase Motorsports. This marked her first oval appearance since Richmond in 2018, making the challenging Rockingham track an uphill battle from the start.
• Rather than letting early setbacks derail her NASCAR ambitions, LEGGE is doubling down with an expanded 12-race schedule for 2025, supported by sponsors e.l.f. Cosmetics, Droplight, Sherfick Companies, and Desnuda Tequila. She’s committed to gaining essential experience through simulator work and team collaboration, with upcoming races at Talladega, Charlotte, Nashville, and the iconic Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez proving this 25-year motorsports veteran isn’t backing down from the challenge.
