GRRL! SUMMARY:

  • While most of the field dealt with penalties and position shuffling after the marathon fog delay, LILOU WADOUX emerged as the steady hand we needed to see. Her No. 21 AF Corse Ferrari 296 GT3 Evo was sitting pretty at the front of the GTD field when racing resumed with just over six hours to go.
  • The restart after a brutal 6-hour and 33-minute caution showed exactly why we tune in – while the big names were serving penalties or scrambling for position, Wadoux demonstrated the kind of racecraft that reminds everyone why women belong at the sharp end of endurance racing.
  • With Tommy Milner leading GTLM in his Corvette, we had solid representation in both production-based categories. But let’s be honest – after sitting through six hours of fog, seeing Wadoux positioned to make a statement in the final stretch was exactly the kind of storyline this race needed.

UPCOMING:

  • 12 Hours of Sebring – March 2024
  • Long Beach Grand Prix – April 2024
