• MARTA GARCIA, the 2023 F1 Academy champion, survived a terrifying 21G crash at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya while leading the GT3 class for Iron Dames. After being hit from behind by Elosio Donno, her Porsche 911 slammed into tire barriers and burst into flames, leaving her trapped and panicking as smoke filled the cockpit until marshals broke through the co-driver’s door to extract her.
• The 24-year-old Spanish driver spent the night in hospital for precautionary checks after inhaling smoke and feeling dizzy, though all scans came back clear. GARCIA described it as “one of the toughest moments in my career” and thanked the medical team and marshals who reacted quickly to get her out of the burning vehicle, crediting their swift response with her safety.
