GRRL! SUMMARY:
- MARTA GARCÍA was leading the GT3 class in her Iron Dames Porsche when Eliseo Donno’s Ferrari hit her from behind, sending her into a tire barrier at 21G force. The car caught fire with GARCÍA momentarily trapped inside due to a blocked door, causing her to panic as smoke filled the cockpit before marshals rescued her.
- The 2023 F1 Academy champion escaped serious injury but was hospitalized for smoke inhalation observation. Donno took full responsibility and apologized for the incident, acknowledging his fault in what GARCÍA called one of the toughest moments of her racing career.
- Despite surviving a terrifying crash that wasn’t her fault, GARCÍA faced online abuse simply for being a woman in motorsport. Because apparently some people think the real problem with a 21G impact and car fire is that a woman was driving it. We see you, trolls, and your logic is as broken as that Ferrari’s judgment.
