MICHELLE GATTING Takes P4 in LMGT3 During Disrupted COTA Practice Session

• MICHELLE GATTING delivered a solid fourth-place performance in LMGT3 during Free Practice 1 at Circuit of the Americas, setting a 2:07.365 in the #85 Iron Dames Porsche 911 LMGT3 R. Her time put her right in the mix behind the two TF Sport Corvettes and ahead of the Vista AF Corse Ferrari, proving the Iron Dames squad is ready to fight for podium positions.
• The 90-minute session was anything but smooth sailing, with four red flags interrupting the action including a 50-minute delay due to technical issues. Teams dealt with faulty data transmission problems that forced race officials to restart the entire session from scratch, but GATTING and her Iron Dames teammates managed to maximize their limited track time effectively.
• While the Hypercar class saw Will Stevens top the timing sheets in the #12 Cadillac, the LMGT3 battle shapes up as a tight affair with GATTING positioned well within striking distance of the class leaders. The session ended early after Charlie Eastwood’s Corvette stopped on track, but not before we got a clear picture of where the competitive order stands heading into Free Practice 2.
