GRRL! SUMMARY:
- RILEY PEGRAM showed serious improvement at Sebring, wheeling her Hyundai Elantra N TCR from 15th on the grid to a season-best 9th place finish. Her opening stint was particularly impressive – she found her rhythm quickly and was consistently matching lap times with more experienced drivers ahead, proving she belongs in this field.
- The racing got spicy when RILEY had to work her way past Christine Sloss’s Aston Martin and then capitalize on others’ misfortunes, including Maddie Aust getting spun at turn one. PEGRAM’s pace really came alive in the second half of her stint, setting personal bests while hunting down Megan Tomlinson and showing she had the speed to run with the top-10 pack.
- Strategy played perfectly for Pegram Racing in this caution-free marathon. While other TCR teams scrambled for fuel in the closing stages, the father-daughter duo’s late pit stop timing gave them the edge they needed. RILEY’s consistent pace combined with smart fuel management delivered exactly what this team needed – their first top-10 result and valuable championship points.
