GRRL! SUMMARY:
- SUMMER RINTOULE came agonizingly close to her maiden GT4 Australia victory at Queensland Raceway, finishing just under a second behind the winner in race two after a thrilling final-lap battle. The 18-year-old rookie, who stepped up from Toyota GR 86 Cup, has been consistently fast in her #87 Triple Eight Race Engineering Mercedes-AMG GT4, proving that her earlier podium at Sydney wasn’t a fluke.
- ZOE WOODS secured her second overall podium of the 2025 season with a hard-fought third place, showing the consistency that’s made her a legitimate championship contender. After becoming the first woman to win a GT4 Australia race in 2024’s Pro-Am class, Woods is now running in the top Silver class and currently sits fourth in points standings—ahead of Rintoule despite both being front-runners all season.
- The Queensland weekend showcased both drivers’ racecraft under pressure, with chaotic wet conditions in race one leading to multiple safety cars and strategic gambles. While both finished outside the points in the rain-soaked opener due to circumstances beyond their control, they bounced back in race two to deliver the goods when it mattered, setting up an intriguing season-long battle between two of Australia’s most promising talents.
