GRRL! SUMMARY:
- Three women are making their mark in the Vinyl Detail Fiesta ST150 Challenge this season, and at Silverstone’s penultimate round, STEPH SORE and SOPHIE KINGHORN both cracked the top-10. SORE qualified an impressive sixth but got hit with a track limits penalty that knocked her from fifth to seventh in race one. Meanwhile, KINGHORN delivered on her Silverstone debut with a brilliant sixth-place finish in race two after methodically working her way up the field.
- SOPHIE KINGHORN has been the breakout star of the trio, stepping up from Scotland’s regional series to sit eighth in the championship standings. Her Silverstone weekend showcased exactly why – she grabbed her first podium at Cadwell Park earlier this season and followed it up with consistent top-10 pace at the home of British motorsport. JADE GOODWIN might not have the flashiest results, but she’s been rock-solid all year, sitting in the championship top-10 and adding crucial points with clean, smart racing.
- The women have been proving themselves in one of Britain’s most competitive and cost-effective single-make series, battling identical MK6 Ford Fiestas against 23-car fields. SORE’s partial campaign has still netted her two top-5 finishes when she shows up, while GOODWIN bounced back from Cadwell Park misfortune to gain seven positions at Snetterton and score her breakthrough eighth-place finish at Oulton Park. With one round left at Brands Hatch, these three have established themselves as serious contenders in a series that doesn’t hand out participation trophies.
