Cristina Toteri is not a racing competitor — she is the kind of specialist whose hands actually build the machines that win. As a welder at Aprilia Racing, she is among the small number of women whose work inside MotoGP’s most demanding technical environments has begun to draw the attention it deserves.

EARLY YEARS

Toteri is from Padova, Italy. A 2024 profile placed her age at 32 and noted she had been working at Aprilia Racing for four years by that point [1].

REPUTATION

Toteri works in aluminum welding, focused on chassis and swingarm fabrication — the structural backbone of a MotoGP machine [2]. She began that work at Ducati’s Borgo Panigale operation and moved to Aprilia’s Noale facility at the end of 2022 [2].

In September 2026, she was featured as part of the “TogetHER” MotoGP paddock initiative, a program designed to bring participants closer to the technical side of grand prix racing and to spotlight the women working within it [3]. Her inclusion in that event reflected a broader recognition that the sport’s engineering and fabrication workforce includes women whose contributions rarely make the front page. Toteri’s own framing of her role was precise: “I don’t race; I make racing possible.” [3]
