I have always been a huge advocate for women in sport, and given that the sport I participate in is so male-dominated, I really hope to be one of the people who are really helping break that glass ceiling.
I hope that the impact I’ve had here is that, you know, students can be as outrageous as they want and still find that they can get respect and be successful in school.
What’s really special about being able to be in pro racing and in sport management is that I get to see a lot of what we study in class happening in real life on the weekends I’m competing.

FULL BIO: Elisa Gendron Belen
Elisa Gendron-Belen is a 20-year-old American motorcycle racer from New Hartford, New York, who competes in both MotoAmerica series and international women’s racing circuits. With Puerto Rican heritage through her mother’s side, she’s become a vocal advocate for breaking gender barriers in the male-dominated world of motorsports.
EARLY YEARS
Born around 2003, Elisa grew up in New Hartford, New York, where her Puerto Rican maternal heritage would later influence her racing sponsorship opportunities. Her path to racing began during her sophomore year of college when she received a call to join a racing team—an unexpected entry point that launched her into the world of professional motorcycle racing while she was still pursuing her education.
OTHER INTERESTS
Beyond the racetrack, Elisa is a dedicated student at St. John Fisher University, where she’s completing a Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management with a minor in International Studies. She graduated in May 2024, combining her academic pursuits with her racing career in a way that allows her to see classroom theory play out in real-time during race weekends. Her studies have given her insight into the business side of motorsports, preparing her for a comprehensive career in the industry.
EARLY SUCCESS
Elisa’s racing career took off with participation in MotoAmerica Junior Cup before progressing to more competitive series. She found her stride in the Italika Women’s International Cup in Mexico, where she spent three seasons learning the tracks and mastering the spec Italika Racing 500 bikes. Her gradual improvement culminated in a breakthrough podium finish, proving her ability to compete at the international level while representing both her American roots and Puerto Rican heritage.
NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
- 2023: Third place finish in Latin American International Women’s Cup at Autodromo Tangamanga, San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
- 2024: Graduated from St. John Fisher University with Bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and minor in International Studies.
- 2025: Selected as wild-card entry for World Women’s Circuit Racing at Balaton Park Circuit, Hungary.
