FULL BIO: Emma Scarborough
Emma Scarborough is a rising teenage driver from Georgia making her mark in the USF Juniors series as one of only three female competitors in the 2025 season. At just 16 years old, she’s already set her sights on reaching INDYCAR or IMSA, representing the next generation of American open-wheel talent.
EARLY YEARS
Born on May 18, 2008, in Atlanta, Georgia, Emma got her start like many future racing stars—through karting. Growing up in the motorsports-friendly environment of Georgia, she progressed through the karting ranks before making the jump to open-wheel racing. The young driver caught the attention of teams during extensive off-season testing in early 2024, preparing for her entry into the USF Juniors series. Now residing in Senoia, Georgia, she balances her racing career with being an 11th-grade high school student, proving that the classroom and the cockpit can coexist.
OTHER INTERESTS
When she’s not behind the wheel, Emma stays active with soccer and basketball, though racing clearly takes priority. She’s got a serious passion for saltwater fishing—impressive enough that she’s actually won a fishing tournament. Her travel bug has already taken her to some incredible places, including Spain, Portugal, and London, with Greece high on her bucket list along with skydiving and attending the Monaco Grand Prix. In the kitchen, she can whip up a mean chicken fajita, and she’s got no shame about her Raising Cane’s addiction. Emma also admits she wishes she were more artistic, showing there’s always room to grow beyond the track.
EARLY SUCCESS
Emma’s transition from karting to open-wheel racing has been methodical and promising. After impressing during off-season testing with Exclusive Autosport in 2024, she secured a spot with InterMS for the USF Juniors series. While specific race wins and podiums aren’t yet documented, her progression through the ranks and ability to secure competitive rides speaks to her talent and dedication. Being selected as one of the few female drivers in a highly competitive series at such a young age demonstrates that teams see real potential in her abilities.
NOTABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
- 2024: Completed extensive off-season testing with Exclusive Autosport in preparation for USF Juniors entry.
- 2024-2025: Secured ride with InterMS team for USF Juniors series competition.
- 2025: Became one of only three female drivers competing in the USF Juniors series.
- Undated: Won a saltwater fishing tournament, proving her competitive spirit extends beyond motorsports.
INSPIRATIONS
Emma’s racing hero is Max Verstappen, and she’d love the chance to meet him and learn about his motorsport experiences. When watching Formula 1, she cheers for McLaren and Ferrari, showing an appreciation for both historic racing pedigree and current competitive excellence. Her sporting loyalties extend beyond racing—she supports Atlanta United in soccer and the Atlanta Bulldogs in college football, staying true to her Georgia roots.
REPUTATION
In the racing community, Emma is recognized as a promising young talent making the transition from karting to professional open-wheel racing. Her presence as one of three female drivers in the 2025 USF Juniors field highlights her as part of a new generation breaking barriers in motorsports. The media coverage she’s received has been positive, focusing on her development and pioneering presence in the series. With sponsorship from FS Scarbrough Civil Contracting, likely a family connection, she appears to have the support structure necessary for continued growth in the sport.
FUTURE GOALS/PLANS
Emma has her eyes firmly set on the big leagues, with aspirations to become an INDYCAR or IMSA driver. She’s actively seeking opportunities to share race weekends with IndyCar teams to gain valuable experience and exposure at the highest levels of American motorsports. Currently competing in the 2025 USF Juniors season with InterMS, she’s using this platform as a stepping stone toward her ultimate goal of racing at the Indianapolis 500 and other premier events.
