FULL BIO: Heather Hadley
Heather Hadley is a rising star in American motorsports who’s been dominating male-dominated racing categories since she was nine years old. This Northern California speedster has turned heads from karting tracks to the MX-5 Cup series, proving that talent doesn’t care about your gender—it just cares about your lap times.
EARLY YEARS
Born around 2001-2002 in Vallejo, Northern California, Heather grew up in a working-class family that understood the value of hard work and big dreams. Her father Damon works as a contractor and mechanic, while her mother Jenny juggles multiple jobs in heating and air conditioning—the kind of parents who know how to make things happen even when resources are tight. At nine years old, Heather discovered indoor karting at Driven Raceway, and let’s just say the competition never saw her coming. She didn’t just win races—she demolished them, posting a perfect winning record that had her ranked among the top drivers out of 355,842 participants. By age 12, she was already speaking at SCCA Runoffs events, because apparently being a preteen prodigy wasn’t enough—she had to be an articulate one too.
OTHER INTERESTS
While racing clearly consumes most of her bandwidth, Heather is balancing the throttle with textbooks, nearing graduation from the University of North Carolina in 2025. The research doesn’t reveal much about hobbies outside the cockpit—when you’re this focused on becoming a professional driver, there’s probably not much time for weekend pottery classes.
EARLY SUCCESS
Heather’s transition from karting to serious racing was like watching someone graduate from spelling bees to writing novels—impressive, but somehow inevitable. At 14, she moved into Legend cars and proceeded to collect championships like they were going out of style, racking up five national and world titles. She became the first female to win the U.S. Legend Cars Silver State Winter Series Championship, then did it again in 2022 because once wasn’t enough. Along the way, she set a track record at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit and became a five-time U.S. Legend Cars points champion. At 19, she stepped up to Asphalt Sportsman Cars, and by 2023, had earned her way into the MX-5 Cup series—the kind of progression that makes other drivers wonder what they’ve been doing with their lives.

INSPIRATIONS
Heather’s biggest influences come from her own garage rather than the grandstands. Her father Damon serves as both her mechanic and mental coach, while her mother Jenny is her biggest fan, attending every race despite working multiple jobs. It’s a family operation that proves you don’t need corporate backing to build champions—sometimes you just need parents who believe in you enough to make it work. Her mission statement reveals a driver focused on continuous improvement: “My mission in motorsports is to never stop pushing to be the best version of myself that I can be… I strive to always arrive at the racetrack prepared and focused, and I am always searching for what is around the corner.”
REPUTATION
In the paddock, Heather is known for her meticulous preparation and aggressive racecraft—the kind of driver who studies every corner and then attacks it with precision. The racing community recognizes her as a barrier-breaker, earning features on the back covers of Racer magazine and SCCA Monthly. Mazda Motorsports supported her for seven months and featured her in their docuseries “First to the Finish,” showcasing her rookie MX-5 Cup season. Fellow competitors respect her for her consistency and resilience—she’s the type who can bounce back from crashes and still land on the podium. Industry insiders see her as a role model for the next generation of female racers, someone who’s earned her stripes through talent rather than tokenism.
FUTURE GOALS/PLANS
Heather is entering her second MX-5 Cup season with Hendricks Motorsports in 2025, using it as a proving ground for her ultimate goal: becoming a professional IMSA driver. She’s focused on progressing through the road course ranks while inspiring younger drivers to chase their own racing dreams. With university graduation on the horizon, she’s positioning herself to make motorsports her full-time career, turning that childhood karting perfection into professional success.
